Peter found his love for CrossFit back in 2016 when he moved up to Minnesota for an internship at CrossFit 1080 in Woodbury. He had just graduated from the University of Northern Iowa and was excited to have the internship at his buddy’s gym. He found an immediate love for Olympic Weightlifting and the strength that came along with it. It wasn’t until his buddy convinced him to try out his first CrossFit class (because he said it would fit his “Springy” nature) that made him realize he could push himself further than anything he had tried before. Little did he know this would be the spark he was missing in his fitness life, and he took on his first CrossFit Open just 6 months later in 2017. Placing in the top 20% that year showed him, he had found his sport.
Peter has been sporadically training CrossFit since 2016 and his love for the sport has only grown stronger during that time. The communities he is now a part of because of the sport include some of the most charismatic and caring people he has had the pleasure of meeting. The friends are irreplaceable and it shows CrossFit creates not only communities, but families. Not only do the social and physical benefits keep him coming back, but what this sport has done for his mental health is priceless. Battling depression and anxiety is never easy, but having a strong community full of friends that have his back, has made him into a man that he can be proud of today. With all CrossFit has given him through the years and with his degree, he knew it was time to finally take the next step and tackle his L1 back in November of 2022. He is excited to get the chance to share with the masses all the good that CrossFit has given him through his coaching. The thrill of helping people achieve what they never thought possible is the reason he coaches.
All he wants to see is people succeed and knowing that he gets to be part of their journey makes every single moment worth it!
